Merit’s Clinical Sleep Education & Training Program

Merit’s Clinical Sleep Education and Training Program has been teaching polysomnography for over 10 years and has trained, educated and helped many polysomnographers receive their certification. Through our expertise we were able to develop a formal education program for sleep technicians and polysomnographers.

The participant will obtain the necessary understanding of basic principals of polysomnography. Merit’s existing 15 sleep centers located throughout Chicago offers a unique opportunity to obtain clinical experience along with the didactic training.

The Education program is offered for individuals looking to change careers with limited or no health care background. This would also strengthen the knowledge-base of all sleep technicians.

Clinical instructors include experienced RPSGT’s and Physicians whe are Diplomats, of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.

5 Day Course for Beginners

This program is designed to provide a solid foundation for the sleep technician. Whether new or arriving with experience, the tools gained from this program will help to cultivate an understanding and appreciation of the importance of the sleep data and collection process.

The course caters to the advanced sleep technologist. This course contains a review of the New staging, EEG arousal, respiratory and PLM event rules, the acquisition and scoring of a MSLT/MWT and the advanced titration methods for Auto SV/AVAP machines.

3 Day Pediatric Sleep Studies

Want to learn more about children’s sleep disorders? This course covers the Polysomnography practices necessary for the pediatric population. Learn the unique hook up, titration and scoring procedures for pediatrics.

3 Day Scoring Workshop

This course will give you a complete understanding of the New scoring rules whether applied to adults or children. We will review all of the new rules and teach you how to incorporate them into your daily routine. You will be given instructor feedback throughout the day as you learn or hone your skills.

2 Day ECG Workshop

This course is for new, experienced and Board eligible technicians. Come and explore the art of arrthymia recognition. Learn the Cardio vascular system, troubleshooting and Artifact recognition

Merit’s affiliate, Royal Management, owns and operates a Marriott Hotel within two miles of our corporate office location, providing convenient overnight accommodations if necessary.
